SCIENCE DAY

     
 LEARN THROUGH ACTIVE EXPLORATION AND INTERACTION WITH MATERIALS
 
        FLOATING AND SINKING

       Children love playing with water, so activities involving water are always enjoyble 
This activity has been designed to introduce kids to the concept that some things float and some things sink.
Kids brought wide variety of materials, some that sink and some that float in water (eg:-wood, plastic spoons, toys, stones, coins, leaves, pencils and many more)
 
  

STEPS FOR ACTIVITY
·       Arrange 2 water bowls
·       Place objects one at a time in water and observe it
·       Talk about what happens to the object
·       Encourage the children to discuss what they think makes something sink or float.
·       Sort the objects into 2 sets, those that float and those that sink
·       Display two sets of objects the in the classroom
·       Kids can collect pictures of objects
·       They also can do simple drawings for the results, as sinking things and floating things
 
 
AIM:-
* Kids learn to sort out the things
*They also get a chance to observe and discuss on the topic
*It gives opportunity to work in groups
